Good to know before exam day
Each NYSED schedule lists a start time and a separate “uniform admission deadline” for each session: 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in January and June, 9:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. in August. Don’t plan around the deadline: NYSED says students must check the exact time to report with their school.
June 18 (Juneteenth) and June 25 are rating days with no state exams. Monday, June 21 has no Regents exams; it is the suggested date for the locally developed World Language Checkpoint A or B exam.
Living Environment and Physical Setting/Earth Science are not on any 2027 schedule. Life Science: Biology and Earth and Space Sciences replaced them (first given in June 2025).
January and June list both the newer Physical Science exams (first given in June 2026) and the older Physical Setting exams. Ask the school which one matches your child’s course.

Do you still need Regents to graduate?
The 2027 exams are given under the current rules: students graduating in 2027 still need passing Regents scores. On September 14, 2026 the Board of Regents told NYSED to go ahead with ending the requirement, starting with students graduating in January 2028 or later. The exams themselves continue.
